An nameless reader quotes a report from CNN: The Biden administration is planning to aggressively broaden offshore wind power capability in the US, probably holding as many as seven new offshore lease gross sales by 2025. The transfer was introduced Wednesday by US Inside Secretary Deb Haaland and first reported by The New York Instances. Haaland stated the Bureau of Ocean Power Administration is exploring leasing gross sales alongside the Atlantic and Pacific coasts, within the Gulf of Maine, New York Bight, central Atlantic and Gulf of Mexico, in addition to offshore the Carolinas, California and Oregon. As a part of that initiative, which spans a number of authorities companies, the Departments of the Inside, Power and Commerce dedicated to a shared aim of producing 30 gigawatts of offshore wind within the US by 2030. The Inside Division estimates that reaching that aim would create almost 80,000 jobs.
